dc.descriptionThis thesis is an investigation of translation pecularities of adjectives of dimension. Adjectives of dimension are the part of the lexico-semantic group in which they enter in synonymic and antonymic relations. The lexico-semantic group consists of the core (main body) and periphery words. The last ones indentify with the main words semantically and form within the lexico-semantic group of dimension microfields of: 1) the general large / small size; 2) height: large / small; 3) thickness: large / small; 4) width: large / small; 5) length; 6) depth. During the investigation we have analyzed different approaches to classifying adjectives of dimension, examined their synonymic and antonymic differences, carried out the distributive analysis provides insight of lexical combinability of the studied language units. The adjectives of dimension are translated in an appropriate way. When there is no adequate analog the translator uses transformations, the most widespread of which are: reductions – 5,2%, replacements of parts of speech (adverbalization – 4,6%, nominalization – 4,4%, verbalization – 2,2%), additions – 3%, lexical replacement – 2,8%, antonymous translation – 0,8%, modulation – 0,4%, sense development – 0,2%.uk_UA
dc.description.abstractРобота присвячена дослідженню мовних одиниць на означення величини в сучасній англійській мові та особливостей їх перекладу українською та російською мовами. Дослідження здійснено на матеріалах фільмів каналу BBC “The Blue Planet” та “Life”. Параметричні прикметники входять до складу лексико-семантичної групи, всередині якої вони вступають у синонімічні та антонімічні відношення. У ході дослідження висвітлено найпоширеніші підходи до систематизування параметричних прикметників, розглядаються їхні синонімічні та антонімічні відмінності, проведений дистрибутивний аналіз дає уявлення про основні тенденції лексичної сполучуваності досліджуваного явища. Прикметники величини здебільшого відтворюються адекватно. У тих випадках, коли не вдається знайти прямий відповідник, перекладач застосовує трансформації. Найчастіше це заміна слова однієї частини на слово іншої, додавання слова, вилучення слова, контекстуальна заміна, перестановка слова, антонімічний переклад.uk_UA
