| Короткий огляд (реферат): | Дослідження присвячено специфічним характеристикам та перевагам технології змішаного навчання у процесі вивчення англійської мови студентами мовного внз в порівнянні з традиційними моделями навчання. У роботі проводиться порівняльний аналіз точок зору іноземних та вітчизняних дослідників у визначенні змішаного навчання, яке розуміється авторами як сучасний універсальний засіб навчання, що поєднує технології традиційного та електронного навчання й відповідає індивідуальним вимогам студентів. Запропоновано розглянути інтерактивність як принцип, що реалізується у навчальному процесі та надає можливість викладачеві ефективніше організувати процес навчання англійській мові, а студенту забезпечує залучення до активної комунікативної діяльності та створює високий рівень мотивації щодо засвоєння англійської мови. |
| Опис: | Blended Learning has become one of the most common ways to teach English Language due to its double component, which integrates Face-to-Face classes with virtual learning in order to offer students a wide range of materials and resources organized in a methodological way. The article explores specific characteristics and advantages of blended learning in the process of teaching English as a foreign language at university level in comparison with traditional forms of education. The article collates different points of view in Ukraine and abroad on defining „blended learning‟ which is understood by the authors as a modern universal educational method comprising traditional technologies and electronic way of learning and which meets individual demands of learners. It is suggested that interactivity should be considered as a principle realized in education that gives the teacher a possibility to organize the process of learning in a more effective way and provides the students’ involvement in active communicative activity. Besides, it creates a high level of motivation in English language mastering. According to the author, the blended learning, mediated by networking with the use of computers and the Internet, can be successful if in the learning process the role of students and their autonomy will be strengthened and the focus will be shifted from teaching to learning and from a teacher to a student. Based on the comparative analysis undertaken, and the study of the blended learning application in Ukraine and abroad, the author gives valid arguments in favor of this technology. However, the implementation of a Blended Course must have a pedagogical foundation for each setting where it is planned in order to be developed. This article seeks to present some integrative components of Blended Learning and how they have been applied in several researches done in different contexts as well as to present some considerations to keep in mind when designing, implementing and evaluating this model. Besides, it encourages teachers to reflect upon Blended Learning (BL) as a potential and different way to approach learning English language, taking advantage of all the emerging pedagogical tools. |
