Abstract:	В статті розглянуто Pidgin English 'англійський піджин', який використовують для спілкування в Нігерії. Розглянуто витоки зародження формування нігерійського піджин англійської мови з часів колонізації Африки. Приділено увагу його розвитку та сферах вживання в сучасному суспільстві. З активним міжкультурним спілкуванням, з відкритими кордонами стандартна англійська мова набуває все нових відтінків. Зараз нікого не здивуєш знанням мови. Чи спілкуєшся ти на британському, англійсько- му чи американському? Сленг став невід’ємною частиною мови. Молодь все частіше використовує його у повсякденному вжитку. Американський та британський сленг вже став буденністю. І в такі моменти міжкультурне спілкування стирає кордони. В літературі знаходимо використання все нових сленгових слів, які стають частиною британського сленгового лексикону. В статті наведені приклади, які доступні в Інтернеті, а також з книжки Стівена Кельмана “Pigeon English”, де він вживає гансько-англійські слен- гові слова та фрази.
Description:	Social and cultural development, modern technological progress, all these factors influence the language. The interest in the study of sociocultures and sociolects has increased for the past years. Nowadays, slang has become an integral part of the social sphere and one of the main and most problematic objects of the lexicological investigation. Slang arises in the multiple structures of society and in the future helps to preserve and modify social diversity. It is a necessary and inevitable result of the development of the language of modern society. It evolves where people of different origins meet at the cultural “crossroads”. The article discusses Pidgin English, which is used for communication in Nigeria. The origins of the formation of the Nigerian Pidgin English have been considered since the colonization of Africa. The attention was paid to its development and spheres of applying in modern society. With active intercultural communication and open borders the Standard English language gets more and more hues. Many people are fluent in English and ability to communicate in English will surprise not many people. The same can be said whether you are socializing using British or American English. Slang has become the fundamental part of the language. Young people use it increasingly in everyday life. American and British slang have developed into something that we embrace every single day. We have become witnesses of how intercultural communication erases borders in the process of intercourse. In the literature, we find that more and more slang lexemes migrate and become part of the British slang glossary. The article provides examples that are available online, as well as from Steven Kelman’s book “Pigeon English”, where usage of Ghanaian-English slang words and phrases play and influence readers’ minds in fascinating ways.
