Боротьба з болем на протязі тисячоліть з моменту виникнення людства була однією з найважливіших і в той же час однією з найскладніших проблем медицини. Це було пов’язано з тим, що організм людини жорстоко страждав від болю при різних захворюваннях, травмах, опіках, не кажучи вже про те, що без ефективного знеболення не можна було успішно і без ризику для життя провести жодне оперативне втручання. The fight against pain has been one of the most important and at the same time one of the most difficult problems of medicine for thousands of years since the beginning of mankind. This was due to the fact that the human body suffered severely from pain due to various diseases, injuries, burns, not to mention the fact that without effective anesthesia it was impossible to carry out any surgical intervention successfully and without risk to life.
