dc.descriptionThis article is devoted to the expressive means which are used to reproduce the suggestion in describing the image “woman” in the Biblical texts of the Middle English period. The origin and the nature of the religious discourse and the main features of the fideystic word as a constituent in suggestive discourse are researched. It was find out the main features and constituents of the image and the role of metaphor and symbol in creating image was described. The image which was typical for a woman in the Middle English period was considered and analyzed. The topicality of the problem has a certain value by itself constituents because the analyses of the suggestion in the Biblical texts of the Middle English period didn’t receive sufficient coverage and haven’t yet been a subject of a thorough investigation either. According to the researches religious discourse is a religious text in the context of real communication, as a system of interpersonal communication between religious and religious texts, as well as texts containing beliefs shared by all believers. The peculiarity of fideistic texts is that they bear signs (words, verbal formulas, messages, sequence of messages, etc.), where the communication of believers attributed certain transcendental (those beyond the limits) properties, in particular magic: divine or demonic origin, sacredness or profaneness and so on. This feature of a fideistic word largely depends on its facsimile effect on the addressee, that is the maximum ability to persuade, excite, induce, etc. Thus the image of “women” in the middle English period in the Biblical texts is a symbol of wisdom, love, motherhood, humility, modesty, loyalty. However, the woman does not always behave in such way and contrary to all canons and commandments, reveals her disobedience, sinfulness and emotionality, which are reflected through her talkativeness, indignation and curiosity. Moreover the leading role in creating the image of “women” is made by such trops and expressive means as: metaphor, metonymy, hyperbole, comparison, polysyndeton, asideton, repetition of conjunctions and emphatic structures, parallel structures, which together have suggestive effects on the recipient.uk_UA
dc.description.abstractСтаття присвячена сугестивним мовним засобам, які використовуються при відтворенні образу жінки в релігійному дискурсі середньоанглійської мови. Досліджено витоки поняття релігійного дискурсу та виокремлені ознаки фідеїстичного слова як складової мовного коду релігійного дискурса. Визначено поняття «образу» та з’ясована роль метафори та символу при його формуванні. Розглянуто та проаналізовано образ, який був притаманний для жінки в середньоанглійський період, а також як він відтворюється за допомогою мовних засобів виразності в сугестивному тексті.uk_UA
