Abstract: В Україні спорадичні випадки захворювання собак на дирофіляріоз виявлялися ще з 1911 року. Наприкінці 1990-х років він набув поширення. У 1997 р. реєстрували 3 % хворих собак, у 1999 – 21 %, у 2002 – 55 % від досліджених за ці роки. Значне збільшення кількості інвазованих дирофіляріями тварин у м. Києві стали реєструвати з 1998 року, а у м. Одесі у позаминулому році вперше діагностували цю хворобу на базі клінік ветеринарної медицини.
Description: In Ukraine, sporadic cases of heartworm disease in dogs have been detected since 1911. In the late 1990s, it became widespread. In 1997, 3% of sick dogs were registered, in 1999 – 21%, in 2002 – 55% of those investigated during these years. A significant increase in the number of heartworm-infested animals in Kyiv began to be registered in 1998, and in Odesa the year before last, this disease was diagnosed for the first time on the basis of veterinary medicine clinics.
