Abstract

Given the armed confrontation of the Ukrainian state and the constant attempts of the government to settle the conflict in the Donbass using any possible means recommended by international law, the article analyzes the historical development of the concept of the truce and understanding its essence in various conflicts. The author outlines and explains the main, in the author's opinion, fundamental issues that should be included in any truce agreement.
