Food supply is the basis of socio-economicstability, national health and state sovereignty. In the context of today's global challenges, such as climate change,depletion of natural resources, urbanisation, armed conflicts, epidemics and economic instability, a country's ability toproduce, store and distribute food independently is critical. The global community is increasingly paying attention toinnovation as a key tool for addressing food security.It is noted that in the context of global climate change, resource constraints, geopolitical challenges and growingdemand for quality agricultural products, innovations are becoming the main driver of productivity growth,environmental sustainability and competitiveness of the agricultural sector.The article analyses current trends in the introduction of innovations in agriculture, in particular the use of digitaltechnologies (artificial intelligence, big data, IoT), biotechnology, precision farming methods, automation andmodernisation of production processes. Particular attention is paid to institutional and financial mechanisms forstimulating innovation, as well as the role of government policy, scientific institutions and agricultural business in ensuringan innovative breakthrough in the industry.The article identifies strategic priorities and barriers to innovative development of the agrarian economy of Ukraine,substantiates the need to create a favourable innovation environment, increase the investment attractiveness ofagriculture, develop agricultural education and research base. It is concluded that the innovative renewal of the agrariansector is a prerequisite not only for achieving food security, but also for the formation of national economic stability andsocial welfare.To maximise the effectiveness of innovative solutions, government support is needed — in the form of investment,educational programmes, favourable legislation and a strategic vision for food policy.
